The event will feature tabletop dioramas depicting our Christmas play, It’s a Wonderful Life, musical performances by a band, orchestra, and choral groups, Christmas caroling, bonfires, and hot chocolate and food served from a couple of food trucks. The outdoor event runs from 5-8 pm. Hope to see you there!

CHRISTMAS PLAY (12/12):   This year’s Christmas play, It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Playwill be live streamed over the internet on Saturday, Dec. 12 and Saturday, Dec. 19.  The play, a radio version of the classic Christmas story, reminds us all that “No man is a failure who has friends.” Please watch our social media for information on how to buy tickets for the event.

  • Also, come out on Friday, Dec. 11 to get a sneak peek at how we created different sound effects in the show, to enjoy a preview of the play along with tabletop dioramas of the story created by our student artists, to listen to music, and to enjoy food treats and hot chocolate at our Winter Festival.

 WHAT’S HAPPENING?

VETERAN’S DAY:  On Wednesday, November 11, Illiana will be celebrating Veteran’s Day – Covid style. Please check our social media channels and blogs for a video that celebrates the many that have faithfully served our country. We thank those in our community who have celebrated with us in person over the years. To keep everyone safe, and in keeping with the guidelines set by the state, we will celebrate virtually this year. Questions? Please reach out to Cassie Siersema at csiersema@illianaweb.org  or Jenna Dutton at jdutton@illianaweb.org.

ILLIANA CHRISTIAN AUCTION:  The Illiana Christian Auction Committee will take place on Saturday, November 21.  The Silent Auction begins at 5:00 p.m. and the live auction at 5:30 p.m. We are eager for your partnership and are asking for your investment by providing items or services to be auctioned or cash donations. Proceeds from this auction will support the Athletic Department, and will also go towards enhancing our digital media capabilities. The goal this year is to raise $65,000.  Questions may be directed to Bonnie Trepton at btrepton@illianaweb.org or 219-558-7066 ext. 24. If you are interested in donating to the auction, please visit our website for details.

YEARBOOK:  Students will be able to order the 2020-2021 yearbook, The Spire, in November.  An order form will be given to students, in homeroom, which they must complete at that time.  The cost of the yearbook will be added to your tuition statement.  If there is a change with the order, please contact Suzanne Jonkman, sjonkman@illianaweb.org.  The cost is $68 if ordered this fall.  If a student requests a yearbook after printing, the cost will be $80.  The Spire will be distributed at the beginning of October next year.

FRUIT SALE:  The Junior class sells oranges, grapefruit, and mixed nuts to help cover some of the cost of the PROM.  The sale will be from November 17 to December 1.  If you are interested in purchasing these, please contact a junior student with your order.  Juniors are reminded to have their orders in no later than December 1, and the payments are due December 16.
