CALENDAR NOTES:

• There will be a late start on Monday, March 2. School will begin at 8:15 a.m.
• Spring Break this year is March 30 – April 3.
• Grandparents Day is April 17.
• Pancake Pacer: April 18.
• The Annual Illiana Christian High School Association Meeting will be held on Monday, April 20 at 7:30 p.m.
• The Spring Supper and Fine Arts Recital will be held on Tuesday, April 21.

 SPRING MUSICAL – MARCH 5, 6, & 7:   Come to Iliana’s production of A Year With Frog and Toad!   This heartwarming and humorous story, based on Arnold Lobel’s books, travels through four seasons of friendship with fun songs and great lessons about life and true friends.  Tickets are $10 each and are now on sale in the main office.  Fun for the whole family!

FUNDRAISING DINNER March 7, 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.:   Join us for the Pulled Pork Party on March 7 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Illiana Christian High School.  Illiana on Missions is sending three teams, over 40 students and 10 chaperones, on mission trips this spring break.  Come out and support the West Virginia, Dominican Republic and Uganda Teams and enjoy pulled pork sandwiches and all the fixings.

 ATTENTION PARENTS OF EIGHTH GRADERS:  High School is just around the corner for many of you! We are now accepting online applications for the 2020 – 2021 academic year. Current Illiana families can access the application in their ParentsWeb/Family Portal under Apply/Enroll. New families should visit the Admissions page on the Illiana website.  If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact our Director of Admissions, Marie Limback, at 219-558-7066 Ext. 49 or mlimback@illianaweb.org. Please pass this information on to friends and family.

PREVIEW ILLIANA:  Preview Illiana is a great opportunity for parents and students who are considering Illiana Christian High School to get an up close view of the school, and have all their questions answered. And, we think it’s just a lot of fun too! Plan to join us on Tuesday, March 3 at 7:00 p.m. No preregistration necessary. Middle school students will receive a free Illiana T-shirt.  Please invite neighbors, friends, family, and anyone else to this event! TALK TO US TUESDAYS: Every Tuesday in March 2020 at 9:00 a.m. prospective parents are welcome to visit Illiana and talk with the Director of Admissions over a cup of coffee from Common Grounds.  We will talk about academics, arts, athletics, parent involvement, mission trips, school culture, applying and enrolling, and anything else guests would like to learn about Illiana.       We’ll also take a walk around our beautiful building and see students and teachers in action. No pre-registration is necessary.

RE-ENROLLMENT for the 2020-2021 school year will be automatic. The re-enrollment fee of $125 will show up on your March tuition bill. You will not need to fill out a separate re-enrollment form. If your student will not be returning next year, please notify Marie Limback at mlimback@illianaweb.org.    Families will still need to complete the course request forms through ParentsWeb as directed by the counselors.

• Also, since we do not get “fresh” information from re-enrollment, please make any updates in address, phone number, etc., through your ParentsWeb account. To make updates, log in to your ParentsWeb account > Web Forms > Family Demographic Form > Update > Save.

 PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES:  Conferences will be held on Tuesday, April 14, from 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Teachers will be available in the Commons for five-minute conferences.  Parents are encouraged to come and take advantage of this opportunity to speak with all of their child’s teachers. Students are not invited.

P.I.E.  NEWS:

• CHICK-FIL-A FUNDRAISER: Everyone is invited to the CHICK-FIL-A Fundraiser, which will be held at the Chick-fil-A in Merrillville, on Thursday, April 16 between the hours of 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Mark your calendars now for this fun event!
• VOLUNTEERS: Thank you to everyone who has signed up to volunteer for P.I.E.! There are still open volunteer spots for lunch. You may sign up at the com link to pick your dates.
• SPRING SUPPER: Join us on Tuesday, April 21 for the SPRING SUPPER, the fundraiser for Excellence in Education, hosted by P.I.E. Stop in and enjoy a delicious dinner anytime between 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. NO R.S.V.P. needed! A free-will offering will be taken. We invite all families and friends of Illiana to join us! Following the dinner feel free to stay for the Fine Arts Recital which will be held from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Contact Wendy Vroom at wendyvroom@comcast.net with any questions.
• ARE YOU TAKING ADVANTAGE OF SCRIP? SCRIP is a great way to earn money back for your tuition.  The 2nd quarter payout to families and future families using the program was $6393.32!  With the SCRIP Store opening this fall our first TWO Quarter pay outs were just under the total payout for ALL OF LAST YEAR.  All SCRIP ONLINE orders are due online by 8:00 a.m. on the Tuesday turn-in date.  The orders will be ready the following Tuesday for pickup.  If you have questions about SCRIP, please contact Jill Rozendal at scrip@illianaweb.org.

 ATHLETIC NEWS:

• PANCAKE PACER 5K RUN & WALK: Illiana’s Pancake Pacer 5k Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, April 18. The Pacer will start and end at the Midwest Training & Ice Center (Dyer, IN). This course offers a great track for the race and is just a couple minutes from our campus!
  • Check-in begins at 6:30 a.m. and the race begins at 7:30 a.m. Our delicious pancake breakfast will be held at the school from 7:30 – 10:00 a.m. All registered runners will eat for free following the race. Any community members wanting to eat and support athletics can pay $5.00 each at the door for the pancake breakfast.
  • Please register for the race online. We look forward to seeing you there and appreciate your help in making athletics a great experience for our students.

  • Pre-tryout Parent and Athlete Meeting: April 14 7:30 – 8:30 p.m.
  • Tryout Clinics: April 17 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. and April 20th 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
