CHROMEBOOKS AND CHARGERS:

• There are still a number of missing Chromebooks and chargers that need to be turned in to the Media Center. A charge was added to your tuition account if your child has a Chromebook and/or charger that needs to be returned.

SUMMER OFFICE HOURS:  The office will be open from 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

WHAT’S HAPPENING?

REPORT CARDS AND DIPLOMAS:    Report cards are available online through the Family Portal.   Packets for the graduates are available to be picked up in the office.  These packets will contain their signed diploma and an unofficial copy of their transcript.

2021-2022 CLASS SCHEDULES:     Copies of schedules are available to view via your Family Portal.   If you have questions regarding your student’s schedule, please contact their counselor.  Students whose last names begin with A – K should contact Mrs. Benes at mbenes@illianaweb.org. Students whose last names begin with L – Z should contact Mr. Zandstra at nzandstra@illianaweb.org.

HEALTH RECORDS:

• The Indiana State Department of Health requires that all incoming SENIORS receive a 2^nd MCV4 (Meningococcal) vaccine. Please mail, email or drop off an updated immunization record BEFORE school starts in August. You may email records to sdeyoung@illianaweb.org.
• Any family that has filled out a Religious Objection Form for vaccinations must complete a new form EVERY YEAR. Please send an updated form, for the 2021 -2022 school year, to the office before the school year starts.  You may email updated forms to sdeyoung@illianaweb.org, or bring them to the office.
• REQUIRED FRESHMEN DOCUMENTS: All freshmen are required by Indiana law to submit an UPDATED immunization record and birth certificate or other proof of age before school starts.   Scans and photocopies are acceptable.

VIKING ACADEMY: Illiana’s Viking Academy, a summer camp program for students of all ages, will take place July 12 -30. We will offer various academic and athletic camps for three weeks in July. Camps include but are not limited to the following:  Drama, Space Science & Engineering, Fishing, Painting, Cooking/Baking, various sports camps and more! To register go to the form on our website.

PARKING FOR 2021-2022:  For identification purposes, all student drivers must display a parking tag in their car.  There is still time to sign up, please do so before August 7.  The $20 fee will be billed with tuition.  Please carefully read, complete and submit the form.  The parking tags will be distributed in homeroom on the first day of school.

FINAL TRANSCRIPTS FOR GRADUATES:  For graduates continuing their education via college, you will need to send your final transcript to the college you decided to attend.  This is YOUR responsibility, not Illiana’s, and you can take care of it by ordering your transcript through Parchment here.  If you have not yet set up your Parchment account or you need assistance, please contact David Boer, dboer@illianaweb.org.

CHALLENGED TO RIDE:  We’re hosting our annual bike ride event “Challenged to Ride” again! August 21, 2021.  All proceeds will benefit our Student Services department here at ICHS. This year we’re adding a Disc Golf tournament that will be held on Illiana’s campus. Bikes, Discs, family fun! Come one, come all! Tune into our social media channels for more details. FALL 2021 WASHINGTON D.C. SENIOR CLASS TRIP:  The dates for the trip will be October 19 – 23, 2021.  The fee of $670 is due on September 15.  More information will be shared as it becomes available.  Please do not pay early, and do not combine payment with a tuition payment.  Payment should be given to homeroom teachers for accurate record keeping.

SENIOR PICTURES: Class of 2022 should note that senior pictures will be taken July 12-14.  HR Imaging has provided brochures containing instructions and a link to schedule an appointment.  Contact HR Imaging at 815-433-1766 if you have any questions.  Retakes will be September 22 and 24.  Please note: while the purchase of a photo package is not necessary, ALL seniors must be photographed by HR Imaging in order to appear in the 2022 Spire (yearbook).  Those students attending the youth conference in July may schedule their appointments for the September dates.

FROM THE ADMISSIONS OFFICE:

CURRENT ILLIANA FAMILIES! Do you have an incoming freshman? If the answer is yes, and you haven’t done so already, NOW is time to fill out Illiana’s admission application. All incoming freshmen are required to fill out the online application and enrollment packet. Class schedules are being created so please complete the admissions process and select courses as soon as possible.

• Application Instructions: Current Illiana families can access the application in their ParentsWeb/Family Portal under Apply/Enroll and start a new application. (Remember, current Illiana students do not need to fill out an application.) New families should visit the Admissions page on the Illiana website.
• After you have submitted your student’s application, you will need to enroll them by completing the online enrollment packet. Instructions for completing this packet will be emailed to you once the application for admission is submitted.
• When the enrollment packet and fee are submitted, you’ll receive instructions about choosing your freshman student’s classes. Contact Director of Admissions Jenna Dutton, at 219-558-7066 Ext. 41 or jdutton@illianaweb.org with any questions or concerns.

HOST FAMILIES FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: At this time, we are seeking families interested in hosting an international student for this coming summer and the 2021-2022 academic year. We are thankful for the opportunity to welcome students into our community for an academic year and in some cases, an entire high school career. Please prayerfully consider being a host family for the upcoming academic year. Contact Jenna Dutton for more information. Host families receive a stipend that covers the cost of tuition for one of their own children, plus an additional summer stipend.

TRANSPORTATION:

BUS SIGN UPS:   The 2021 – 2022   bus registration link is open if your student will need bus transportation next school year, please take a moment to register them.  There is transportation from South Holland, Lansing, and Highland.  The bus registration fee for next year is $215 and will be billed on your August tuition statement.  Contact Duane Kamstra with questions at dkamstra@illianaweb.org.

FROM THE BUSINESS OFFICE:
2021 – 2022 TUITION, GRANTS, and EFT:

The tuition rate is $10,945.00, a $100 enrollment fee credit will be reflected on your August tuition statement.

• The first tuition payment for each student is due by August 15.
  · Payments for August – June will be $995.
  · The Foundation Fund makes an optional discount of $215 available to all students, please complete and return    the form with your August payment.     · The Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) form is linked here. To sign up for EFT payments, return the completed form to the office with your first payment via check or cash by August 15. EFT payments will begin with your September payment.

P.I.E.

• Position Opening: Next year we will need a lunch manager for Walt’s Fried Chicken, about once a month.  This is an extra $100 P.I.E. credit.  You will be fully trained.  Contact Terri Schaaf if you are interested:  708-259-0749 or terrischaaf@illianaweb.org.
• A $200 P.I.E. Fee will be billed on your December tuition statement. More information regarding this and volunteer sign-ups will be emailed in August. Please read the updated information when it is sent.
• SCRIP:  Scrip tuition credit will be paid out at the end of July.  It will be posted on your August statement.   There will be no online scrip order for the month of July.  You may still order from the SCRIP store during the summer months.

ATHLETIC NEWS:

• Tryouts:
  • Boys and Girls Soccer – August 2, 3, and 4. Girls: 3-5 p.m.  Boys:  5-7 p.m.
  • Girls Volleyball – August 2, 3, and 4. Grades 9 & 10, 3-5 p.m.  Grades 11 & 12, 6-8 p.m.
  • Boys Tennis – August 2, 3, and 4. 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
• Girls Golf will begin practicing on July 31.
• Cross Country will begin practicing on August 2.

SPORTS PHYSICALS:  :   All students participating in sports must register on Final Forms.  All athletes must be registered BEFORE tryouts begin.  If you have questions, contact Bonnie Trepton at 219-558-7066 ext. 24, or btrepton@illianaweb.org.

• All athletes must turn in a valid IHSAA Pre-Participation physical and consent form completed and signed after April 1, 2021 to be eligible for tryouts and to compete during the 2021-22 athletic season. The physical form is available here and on the website.
