July 8, 9, 10: Senior Pictures for next year’s graduating class. (September 17 & 18:  Senior retakes.)

June 11 & August 16:  Incoming Freshmen Computer Skills Test (optional).

August 20:  Freshmen first day of school.

August 21:  First day of school for all students.  

September 2:  Labor Day/No School

GRADUATION:  The graduation ceremony will be held on June 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the Family Christian Center, 340 45th Ave, Munster, IN.  Admission is by ticket only until 7:20 p.m.  After that time, the doors are open to all. 

2019-2020 SCHEDULES:   Current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors received their schedules in homerooms on May 29. First semester schedules can also be viewed on ParentsWeb. Please contact your student’s counselor if you need to make changes. Students with last names beginning with A-K should contact Melanie Benes at; last names beginning with L-Z should contact Neil Zandstra at Please note that the counselors work limited hours during the summer so they may not respond immediately. Over the summer, the arrangement of classes and teachers is subject to change, but courses in which students are enrolled will not be changed without notice.

REPORT CARDS AND DIPLOMAS:  Report cards for all students will be ready on RenWeb after June 20 (unless there is still a balance on your tuition account).  Graduates may come to the office beginning June 24 to pick up their diploma and transcript.   Transcripts will be mailed to the colleges indicated on their Seniors Surveys, once the tuition balance for the senior is paid.

SENIOR PICTURES: Juniors should note that senior pictures will be taken on July 8 – 10.  Appointment cards were handed out during homeroom on June 3.  Check with your son or daughter so you can mark your calendar.  If there is a conflict with your pre-scheduled date or time (travel plans, work schedule, etc.), contact HR Imaging at 815-433-1766 to reschedule.  If this is not possible, retakes will be September 17 - 18.  Please note: while the purchase of a photo package is not necessary, ALL seniors must be photographed by HR Imaging in order to appear in the 2020 Spire.                             

FALL 2019 WASHINGTON D.C. SENIOR CLASS TRIP (October 22 – 26):   A tentative itinerary was handed out to the Class of 2019 on May 29. The fee of $635 is due September 12, and should only be submitted with the completed trip registration forms.   


Illiana parents, do you have an incoming freshman? If so, then it is time to fill out Illiana’s application!  All incoming freshman are required to fill out the online application and the enrollment packet.

Class schedules will be created soon so please complete the admissions process right away. Contact Director of Admissions Marie Limback, 219-558-7066 Ext. 49, with any questions or concerns.

Application Instructions: Go to> Admissions>Application for Admissions (on the right side of the screen)>create an application account (or use the account you created for an older, current Illiana student), fill out and submit the application. Marie Limback will contact you via email or phone once it has been submitted.  

Feel free to share this information with the parents of prospective students that you know!

SUMMER OFFICE HOURS:  The office will be open from 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.,     Monday through Thursday and some Fridays.   Call before you come to make sure the office is open.

COMPUTER SKILLS TEST:  Illiana offers an optional Computer Skills Test for incoming freshmen.  This test could allow your student to test out of Illiana’s Computer Skills class(es).   There are two test-out dates: June 11 and August 16, both at 8:00 a.m. Please contact the school office at 219-558-7066 if you would like to sign your child up for the test.

PARKING FOR 2019-2020:   All student drivers must have a parking tag displayed in their car.  All parking will be assigned and the $20 fee will be billed with tuition.  Parking forms are available in the literature display across from the office and on our website.  If you have questions, please contact Mr. Turkstra (

2019 – 2020 TUITION, GRANTS, and EFT:  The tuition rate will be $10,130.  A $100 enrollment fee credit will be subtracted from the approved tuition rate, bringing your billed tuition amount to $10,030. The first tuition payment for each student is due by August 15.  Payments for August – May will be $912 and June’s payment will be $910.  The gratitude grant of $620, for supporting church families, will be applied towards your June tuition.   The Foundation Fund makes an optional discount available to all students; information will be emailed in July.  Also, included with the July email will be the Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) form for tuition payments.  If you prefer EFT payments, return the completed form to the office with your first payment via check or cash by August 15, 2018.  EFT payments will begin with your September payment.

BUS NEWS:  Transportation is again being provided from South Holland, Lansing and Highland.  Please be aware that the $200 fee applies to any portion of the year and will not be prorated.  If you intend to use the bus at all, please sign up for it so we can plan.  You may register online.  Contact Marie Limback, with any questions, at 219-558-7066, ext. 49 or  



SCRIP:  We will be placing ONE SCRIP order during each of the months of June, July, and August for physical gift cards. All orders must be placed online and paid with PrestoPay or a check must be in the office by 8:00 a.m. on the due date. All orders must also be placed online by 8:00 a.m. ScripNow, Reloads, and ReloadNow cards (if you have the physical card already) are available anytime if you purchase online using PrestoPay.

Orders will be placed on June 17 and July 15. These orders will be ready for pick up after 10:00 am on June 20 and July 18. We will start our regular 2019-2020 SCRIP orders on Aug. 20. Pick-up will be Aug. 27.

VOLUNTEERS:  There are some openings to serve lunch this Wednesday.    There is also one spot left for AM dinner prep (9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. for $50 PIE credit) on June 20.  Follow the link for to sign up.       

P.I.E. CREDITS have been posted to the accounts of those who have volunteered. If you are working in June, your PIE credit will be posted after you work.  If you have any questions, please email Cathy at

SCRAPBOOKING: Illiana Scrapbook & Graduation Supplies are available for senior albums. There are a variety of items in school colors and with the ICHS and Viking names on them. These supplies also make excellent photo boards and decorations for graduation parties. We have reduced the price of the inventory. P.I.E. POSITIONS AVAILABLE:   Taco Meat Manager- this position requires you come in from 7:30-8:30 a.m. about every 5 weeks on a Wednesday morning. Contact Terri Schaaf at 708-259-0749 about this position.

PHYSICALS:  Students planning to participate in any sport during the 2019-2020 school year must turn in a current physical form before tryouts for that particular team begin.  Physicals are required every year.  Forms are available in the office or on our website.  You may mail or turn forms in to the main office.

Girls volleyball tryouts will be August 5, 6, and 7.   Freshmen - 3:00 - 5:00 pm.  Sophomores – Seniors 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Boys Tennis Tryouts will be August 5, 6, and 7 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
