ATTENTION PARENTS OF EIGHTH GRADERS: Remember to complete your online applications for the 2020 – 2021 academic year. Current Illiana families can access the application in their ParentsWeb>Family Portal under Apply>Enroll. New families should visit the Admissions page on the Illiana website. RE-ENROLLMENT for the 2020-2021:  Re-enrollment was automatic and entered in March. Since we will not get “fresh” information from re-enrollment, please be sure to update any changes in your family information.

INDIANA CHOICE SCHOLARSHIP VOUCHER INFORMATION: If you are an Indiana Resident planning to apply for the Choice Scholarship Voucher, please send in your documents before April 24. ADVANCED PLACEMENT (AP) EXAMS WILL STILL BE ADMINISTERED FOR THE 2019/2020 SCHOOL YEAR. AP exams will be administered on-line and students will take them at home. We expect to receive more information from the AP College Board as to how each will be timed and what sections of the test will be administered. The College Board is still in the process of determining how each test is to be monitored.

VIKING ACADEMY: Illiana is once again offering Viking Academy, a summer camp program for elementary and middle school kids. We will offer various academic and athletic camps for three weeks in July. Camps include but are not limited to the following, Drama, Space Science & Engineering, Self Defense, Dancing, Cooking/Baking, various sports camps and more! ALL STATE-MANDATED ASSESSMENTS (i.e., ISTEP and ILEARN Biology End of Course Assessment for Indiana high schools) will be cancelled for the 2019-2020 academic school year per the U.S. Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos. Illiana is awaiting Indiana’s plan for handling the seniors who were planning to take the ASVAB to meet state graduation requirements. As the information becomes available, we will pass it along.

For JUNIORS & SENIORS who took the ISTEP+ Spring 2020 Retest, the final results will be available as scheduled on April 6. Mrs. Teach will send results via email as soon as possible.

THE INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION is currently working to develop guidelines for graduating the 2020 seniors given that many of these students may not be able to meet current graduation requirements. There will be an announcement soon regarding this issue.

ADVANCED PLACEMENT COURSE SELECTIONS: Any junior or senior who will be taking an AP course next year should look for an email from the counseling department with the commitment form attached. Students should download the commitment form and either email a scanned copy or a picture of the completed form to mbenes@illianaweb.org or nzandstra@illianaweb.org. The form must be signed by the student and parent and returned by May 1.
