A group of 200-plus students, teachers, parents, and supporters gathered on the South lawn on Saturday, May 20th for the groundbreaking ceremony for the Phase 2 expansion project. There were ceremonial “shovel digs” by a group of teachers/staff, a group of Board members, a group of Committee members, and a group of 7th graders from our partner schools. Those 7th graders will be the first ones to enter Illiana when the expansion plan is complete. This $14.5 project will feature 17 new learning spaces over two floors. It will also contain a new entrepreneurial/vocational wing with a new metal, wood, Makerspace, and STEM classrooms. To see a video of the complete groundbreaking ceremony click HERE.
