Global Service

Every Spring Break, a group of Illiana staff and students participate in a service trip. For several years, a group has traveled to Santiago, Dominican Republic, to work with Pathway to Jesus School. In 2016 and 2018, a group traveled to Kampala, Uganda, to work with the Uganda Orphanage Relief Fund. In 2019, a group was sent to West Virginia with Young Life Expeditions and a group will be returning to the Dominican Republic.

These Mission Trips allow students the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus across the globe and take their experiences back home with them. We hope to cultivate a desire to bridge cultures and span the gaps of misunderstanding. Empathy, passion, joy and humility are all present when students embark on Mission trips around the globe or across the U.S. Illiana’s students have repeatedly reflected upon these trips in a positive, passionate way and have shared their impacts on students’ lives long after leaving Illiana.
