Chapel

Illiana holds chapel services every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. This is a time where students and faculty worship, hear God’s word proclaimed, and learn how to put their faith into action. An eight-student Chapel Committee plans each service, doing everything from writing skits and editing videos, to lining up speakers and rehearsing with musicians.

The biggest thing that sets Illiana apart from other school options is the vibrant Christian community. Illiana lives out its mission to graduate students who have a comprehensive Christian view of life committed to the challenge of serving God and others. We pursue this mission in multiple ways, and one of those ways is by having a school-wide chapel service. By bringing students, faculty, and staff together in worship, we create an intentional community based off of growing in faith together.

Chapel Committee

How does the Illiana’s Chapel Committee contribute to Spiritual Life on campus?

  • Creates a theme encompassing a series of faith-based principles to teach, guide, and challenge the students with.
  • Brings in different speakers and pastors to share God’s word and work with the student body.
  • Performs skits and activities to engage students and example the faith-based principles.
  • Compiles a group of musically-gifted students to lead Illiana in worship.
  • Uses creativity, intentionality, and vulnerability to unite the students, faculty, and staff together in a Christian community.
  • After an extensive interview process, students are chosen by the Chapel Committee sponsors (two faculty members). These students get an amazing opportunity to lead, create, and work as a team.
