UPDATED COVID REFERENCE:   An updated version of the Covid 19 Flow Chart is attached to this email.  Please use it as a guide when making attendance decisions.

2019-2020 SPIRE PARTY:  The 2019-2020 yearbook, The Spire, will be available at the Spire Party on Friday, October 2, in the Commons.  Due to the current circumstances the Spire Party will be held at two different times:   Sophomores & juniors may pick up their yearbooks between 3:30 – 5:00 p.m.  Seniors and graduates may pick up their yearbooks between 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.  Everyone attending must wear a mask. 

THE ILLIANA MUSIC DEPARTMENT is excited to present our biggest fundraiser of the year!  Members of Band, Choir & Orchestra will be selling popcorn and pastries from Labraid.  These items are DELICIOUS.  Please consider supporting the Music Department by purchasing an item or two from our students.  If you’re not sure who to contact about purchasing items; please reach out to Mrs. Monroe, Mr. Anderson or Mrs. Sliekers.   The fundraiser runs from Monday, October 5-Wednesday, October 28.

PSAT:  The PSAT for juniors will be given at ICHS, during the school day, on October 14.  The test is optional for junior students. If you have any questions please contact your student’s counselor.

NO SCHOOL:  There is no school on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, October 21-23, due to a records day and the Christian Educator’s Convention.  The school office will be open Wednesday and Thursday, and closed on Friday, October 23.

REPORT CARDS:  Report cards will be available online through your FACTS/RenWeb Family Portal on October 27.    You will be notified via email when they are available.

PARENT – TEACHER CONFERENCES:  On Thursday, October 29, we will dismiss at 2:25 p.m. and Conferences will be held from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. and 5:45 – 8:00 p.m.  Conferences will be held in the Commons.  The conferences are for parents and teachers, not students or other children. Everyone attending must wear a mask.

VETERAN’S DAY:   On Wednesday, November 11, Illiana will be celebrating Veteran’s Day – Covid style. Please check our social media channels and blogs for a video that celebrates the many that have faithfully served our country. We thank those in our community who have celebrated with us in person over the years. EMERGENCY SCHOOL CLOSINGS:  Information regarding any school closings will be shared through social media, and via a parent alert through FACTS/RenWeb.


FOUNDATION FUND CREDIT FORM – LAST REMINDER:  The Foundation Fund Claim Form needs to be turned in to the school office by October 31 in order to receive your 2020-2021 credit.  This form is on our website.  Credits not claimed will be given to the Tuition Assistance Fund to help other families.



PREVIEW ILLIANA (OPEN HOUSE FOR PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS AND THEIR PARENTS):  Save the date! Discover what Illiana Christian has to offer at Preview Illiana on Thursday, December 3 at 7:00 p.m.  We are making plans for a fun, informative evening for middle schoolers, transfer students, and their parents. SHADOW VISITS: Shadow Visits are a great way for 7th and 8th graders and potential high school transfer students to get a close-up student perspective on Illiana. Illiana students host visiting students for a whole school day, going to classes, chapel or club meetings, having lunch (on us!) and meeting students and teachers. Due to COVID-related restrictions, our Shadow Visit Program is currently on hold, but we hope to open it up in early November.


  • Volunteering: If you have signed up to volunteer please double check your scheduled time. Some of the lunch times for workers have been revised.  We remind you to please only volunteer twice through the month of December.  You may sign up at com.  Thank you so much for volunteering!
  • Golden Opportunities Coupon Books: I.E. is selling Golden Opportunities Books. Both NWI and Chicago South Suburbs books are available in the office for $25 each. There are great coupons for dining and also for Driving Schools, Dry Cleaners and Grocery Stores! You may send your check or cash with your child and they can pick them up in the school office. This is a fundraiser for the Excellence in Education Fund which covers many items not included in tuition. Please consider this great Fundraiser!
  • Culver’s Fundraiser: Come on out to Culver’s on FRIDAY OCTOBER 30!  Please mention Illiana Christian High School when ordering and a percentage of the cost of your meal will go to the Excellence in Education Fund. The participating Culver’s locations are: the new location in St. John and also Schererville and Crown Point. Enjoy outside seating, indoor dining or drive thru. We are excited for this fun and profitable fundraiser! Hope to see you there!



The IHSAA opening dates for tryouts are as follows,: Girls Basketball: October 19, Wrestling: November 2, Boys Basketball: November 9, (times will be announced at a later date).

ADMISSION PRICES FOR WINTER ATHLETIC EVENTS:  Adults: $5.00, Students (with ID): $3.00, Seniors: $3.00, and Winter Family Pass: $25. Family passes are available at any winter athletic event at the gate.

ILLIANA CHRISTIAN AUCTION: The Illiana Christian Auction Committee is happy to announce our 6th Annual Auction on Saturday, November 21.  The Silent Auction will begin at 5:00 p.m. and live auction at 5:30 p.m. We are eager for your partnership and are asking for your investment by providing items or services to be auctioned or cash donations. Proceeds from this auction will support the Athletic Department, and will also go towards enhancing our digital media capabilities.
