Our mission has remained the same since the moment our original leadership launched Illiana Christian High School in 1945. The goal of our staff members is to provide our students with a superior education that will help them be successful after graduation while also promoting exploration of what it means to live a Christian lifestyle. Finding meaning in today’s society can be challenging. Our team believes that forging a path toward spiritual growth will establish a foundation for our students to have the most impactful presence in their communities and in our world. The teaching of the Gospel can be found everywhere to serve as a shining light for our students to follow.
Feeling at home on our campus is important to our staff and teachers. They have extensive experience in the field, and most have Master’s degrees. Illiana’s student-staff ratio is 14 to 1 and our average class size is 23. Our counselors can provide the personal attention that your student may need in the areas of college selection and future planning. Our professional staff members are the best guides when it comes to applying for colleges and financial aid. They can also work with your children on what courses will be most beneficial to their future career plans.
Parent volunteers work directly with our student body as part of our Career Opportunity Program. Juniors and seniors are interviewed, assessed and then teamed with someone who has experience in their chosen field. This special program can give our young men and women an idea of what their future may be like since being exposed to a job can change the direction of a student’s life. The meetings often spotlight educational requirements, job outlook and compensation packages.
Sports are an important component of our campus life. Your child can play tennis, soccer, basketball, baseball and softball as well as join the track, cross country or cheerleading teams at our school. Sports are a vital way to continue the teachings of the Gospel in more of an everyday setting that will resonate with your children. Staying active helps keep our young adults fit as well as creates a place for lessons in sportsmanship and empathy.
Our arts programs spotlight how talented young adults can really be! Your children have many opportunities to sharpen their singing, acting, dancing, drawing or musical skills. From wind ensemble to pep band and drama to concert choir, creative outlets are readily available.
