Plan Your Visit

Do you have questions about Illiana? We’ve got you covered!

Schedule a Shadow Visit at Illiana!

If your student is wondering what going to Illiana looks like, is unsure about entering this new space, or wants to meet some friendly faces before attending Illiana, we recommend signing them up for a shadow visit!

What is a Shadow Visit? Your child is paired up with an Illiana student-host. This student will greet you and be your “buddy” throughout the day. The visiting student will attend classes, meet teachers and students, have lunch (on us!) and go to a Chapel or a club meeting.

A Shadow Visit is a great way to see what our school is all about. Your visit will include a full school day at Illiana from 7:40 am to 2:50 pm. You will get to see up close what the daily life of an Illiana student looks like.

Illiana’s Shadow Visit season for the 2020-21 school year is temporarily on hold due to limitations on having visitors in the building amid COVID concerns. Keep an eye on this page or contact the Admissions Office to find out when Shadow Visits will be taking registrations again. We can hardly wait to be up and running again!

Shadow Visit FAQs

  • When can I visit Illiana? You may visit Illiana once the Shadow Visit program is available again,  as it is currently restricted due to COVID limitations. If school is in session, you may set up a shadow visit online or through the Admissions Director. There are a few exceptions to this rule, but for the most part, it holds true.
  • When should I arrive and when should I leave on the day of my visit? Visitors should be here by 7:30 a.m. and wait for their host in the office. Visitors are to be picked up at the end of the school day at 2:50 p.m.
  • Does Illiana provide lunch? Yes! We provide lunch for all Shadow Visitors. Hot lunch is served Monday-Friday. You are welcome to bring your own lunch any day you visit if you want. A hot lunch schedule can be found on our website.
  • What should I bring? You should bring a willingness to ask questions and learn about Illiana from other students and teachers! Besides that, there is nothing required for you to bring. Feel free to bring a book to read or homework to work on in case you have free time in a class.
  • What should I wear? Our dress code promotes modesty. Clothing with band names or logos are not allowed. See the Parent-Student Handbook for the dress code. Illiana students do not wear uniforms.
  • Can I bring my cell phone? Yes, however, cell phone use is very limited under our “Away for The Day-Except at Lunch” policy. Phones may not be heard, seen, or used at any time during the school day, except in the commons during the student’s lunch break.
