FINE ARTS

Fine Arts Week at Illiana Christian, which is usually during late March or early April, is a culmination of artistic efforts put forth by the students in many areas. These include organ, piano, vocal and instrumental solos and ensembles, speech, written composition, photography, video, drawing, painting, ceramics and sculpture. An evening recital offers students the chance to showcase their artistic skills.

The primary qualification for joining the Fine Arts Committee is having a genuine interest in an area of the arts; one need not be a performer. Tasks include promotion of the competition, organizing the event, and displaying the work or programming performances. Faculty sponsors arrange for judges. Fine Arts Committee also produces the Varia, Illiana’s arts magazine.
